Laurie Becker practices in the areas of corporate law, bankruptcy and creditor's rights, commercial lending, public finance, and economic development.

She works with both lenders and borrowers in all facets of a loan transaction - from negotiation of the original loan facilities, to refinancings and workout and forbearance agreements, to complex business reorganization plans in the bankruptcy context. She often is called upon by colleagues and clients to advise on UCC issues ranging from Article 2 Sales to Article 9 Secured Transactions.

Laurie also has an active opinion practice, often representing lenders in multi-state financing transactions as local counsel.  Since 2006, Ms. Becker has served as a member of the Legal Opinion Ad-Hoc Committee of the Corporate, Banking and Securities Law Section of the South Carolina Bar, which wrote the State Report on Opinion Practice in South Carolina (published in the summer of 2015).
