Overview

I focus my practice on federal and state taxation by building legal strategies that help clients understand how tax law impacts a wide range of transactions, while ensuring compliance and minimizing tax burdens.

I have a broad background in a number of tax issues but am particularly well versed in:

• Matters involving individual estate plans and goals
• Disputes with the Internal Revenue Service as well as state taxation authorities
• State and federal income, estate, gift, and generation-skipping tax returns
• Filing requirements for businesses and individuals with multi-state sourced income
• Reporting requirements upon expatriation

Prior to joining Nexsen Pruet, I worked with a Virginia-based firm, where I handled complex estate and asset protection plans for high-net worth clients. I oversaw and supervised the administration of trusts and prepared customized operating agreements, business succession plans, purchase agreements, leases and promissory notes for corporations, subchapter s-corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships.

Like most parents with young children, I spend most of my time out of the office with my son, Connor. And, like most little boys, he is into super heroes, sports and anything outdoors - so we stay busy getting into everything. We also enjoy playing outside with our two dogs, Nala and Hailey, and taking them for walks or over to the park.

I’m also a huge sports fan and love anything Virginia Cavaliers related (wahoowa!), and I’m a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan (despite growing up in the Washington DC area).
