John's passion for the firm is equally matched by his passion for athletics.  For more than 2 decades, John has worked in various roles with the Irmo-Chapin Recreation Commission.  His love for the game of baseball has taken him across the U.S. as coach of youth teams as well as to watch the South Carolina Gamecocks play in 2 College World Series.

John also serves the State of South Carolina as an appointee to the Public Employee Benefit Authority (PEBA).  He was appointed to PEBA at its creation in 2012 and currently serves as chairman of its Retirement Policy Subcommittee.

John grew up in Texas and has been married to his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth, for more than 40 years and has two married sons.  With four grandchildren from those marriages, Elizabeth and John are blessed with lots of play opportunities.

Before attending law school, John was commissioned as a U.S. Army Second Lieutenant and served four years on active duty and ten more years in the Army Reserve.
