Nexsen Pruet attorney Rick Mendoza has been selected as a participant for the 7th Midlands Class of The Riley Institute at Furman Diversity Leaders Initiative (DLI).
Mendoza is one of 42 leaders from the Midlands and surrounding areas selected to participate. Class members meet over the course of five months in a format driven by timely, relevant case studies and other experiential learning tools designed to maximize interactions and productive relationships among program participants. As part of the program, leaders work in cross-sector groups to respond to real issues and opportunities in their communities through capstone service projects.
Other Nexsen Pruet attorneys to complete the initiative in recent years include Helen Grant (2013), Tommy Lavender (2013), John Sowards (2012), Tushar Chikhliker (2010), Leighton Lord (2009) and Paul Dominick (2008).
Rick Mendoza is a Certified Bankruptcy and Debtor-Creditor Law Specialist in the State of South Carolina. Rick received his Bachelor of Science Degree, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina. He earned his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he has served as an adjunct professor
The Diversity Leaders Initiative focuses on diversity leadership, community building, and communication and collaboration skills. It is offered to select senior-level leaders across the state, and over 400 CEOs, mayors, city and county council members, legislators, school superintendents, pastors and rabbis, non-profit heads, chamber of commerce directors, and community leaders have graduated from the program.
